Two-Time Super Bowl Champion Helps Family Raise its Vacation Game
Orlando, FL, January 30, 2018 - Peyton Manning becomes vacation quarterback to America in a new Universal Parks & Resorts commercial set to air during the Super Bowl – coaching families to take their vacation to the next level at Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort.
 
An extended version of the spot will air in the NBC pre-game show and a thirty-second version of the commercial will air during the Super Bowl. 
 
“This is your moment,” Peyton coaches a family starting its day at a Universal theme park in the extended version of the spot.  “You are more than a team.  You are a family.  Now let’s get out there and play.”
 
Manning joins the family during both spots to ensure they really do take fun to the next level.  He screams on a roller coaster, scrambles away from a Raptor showing its “game face,” and has a churro intercepted right out of his hands – and more.

Hard Hat Tour Gives Media First Look at Hotel’s Grand Hall, Royal Courtyard, Dining Options and More

CARLSBAD, Calif. (Jan. 25, 2018) – Hammers pounding, saws cutting and drills buzzing were some of the sounds heard by the media in front of LEGOLAND® Castle Hotel at LEGOLAND®California Resort as Merlin the wizard unraveled his scroll officially declaring the Hotel’s opening day: April 27, 2018. LEGOLAND® California’s General Manager Peter Ronchetti and LEGOLAND® Hotel Manager Frank Idris also addressed the crowd providing Resort updates and new details about North America’s first LEGOLAND Castle Hotel.
 
“It’s hard to imagine that just five years ago we were standing on a construction site just like this announcing North America’s first LEGOLAND Hotel which has proven to be extremely popular with our guests,” said Idris. “In fact, it was just named one of Trip Advisor’s top 25 Hotels for families in the United States! And, we achieved our goal of becoming the first hotel in Carlsbad to achieve the Environmentalist level from the California Green Lodging Association thanks to all of the additional conservation efforts that were implemented this past year.“
 
“Staying in a LEGOLAND Hotel is an adventure in itself and only adds to the overall experience families are treated to when they visit LEGOLAND California Resort,” said Ronchetti. “Adding LEGOLAND Castle Hotel proves how much LEGOLAND California Resort has become a multi-day destination for families with children ages 2-12 wanting to be fully immersed into the world of LEGO®.”
 
During the hard hat tour, guests received a first look at the 250-deluxe-themed room Hotel as they walked through the Grand Hall, Dragon’s Den Restaurant, Royal Courtyard and got a sneak peek at the three room themes: Knights and Dragons, Royal Princess and Magic Wizard. While in the Grand Hall, Idris and Ronchetti provided an overview of the Hotel, described key features and discussed the economic impact created by the 200 new job openings for LEGOLAND Castle Hotel. Details were also shared about the large LEGO Wizard model that will greet guests as they enter the Grand Hall, a slide that will connect the lobby to the first floor and a knock knock door created to entertain guests.
 
Inside Dragon’s Den, the head chef shared insight to the dining options available at LEGOLAND California Resort’s only full-service sit down restaurant. Dragon’s Den will include an open kitchen for guests to watch chefs preparing their food, LEGO models, entertainers and locally-sourced food creating a unique dining experience. Breakfast will be included with each guest’s stay and includes made-to-order items along with a buffet.
 
The Royal Courtyard outside is designed to immerse children in a fairy tale of their own creation with a DUPLO play area for the younger kids, larger play structures for the older kids, giant movie screen for nighttime movies, a stage for live plays and shows, a gradual incline pool and hot tub. The pool bar and grill will offer smoothies, sandwiches and salads prepared fresh to order.
 
Guests also explored each room theme and had a chance to view one of the 20 suites available. A Resort Master Model Builder greeted guests in the Magic Wizard theme room and treated them to a sneak peek of a few of the 2,100 LEGO models made out of more than three million LEGO bricks that will be featured inside the rooms and throughout the Hotel.

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Announces Los Angeles Premiere of BATMAN: GOTHAM BY GASLIGHT

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment proudly presents the Los Angeles premiere of ​Batman: Gotham By Gaslight, the next entry in the popular, ongoing series of DC Universe Movies, at The Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills on February 5, 2018. Filmmakers and members of the voice cast will attend the event for red carpet media interviews and a post-screening panel discussion.

The Paley Center for Media in Los Angeles is located at 465 North Beverly Drive in Beverly Hills. The screening will begin at 7:00 pm.

A limited number of free tickets are available to the general public. Please note that Batman: Gotham By Gaslight is rated R for “some violence.” Anyone under 17 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian.

Fans wishing to receive free tickets to the Los Angeles event on February 5 must RSVP via email to [email protected].

Batman: Gotham By Gaslight takes place at the turn of the century as America’s continued industrial revolution is to be showcased at a World’s Fair hosted by Gotham City. But while the world prepares to witness the glittery glory of Gotham’s technological advances, there is a killer loose in the city’s darkest shadows. This spectacularly themed Lunar New Year event will take place within Universal Plaza, a polygon-shaped piazza that sits at the heart of the theme park.  Under a curtain of customary red Chinese lanterns and stunning plum blossom Wishing Trees, the festivities will come to life as guests discover the 12 zodiac animal signs accompanied by their symbolic attributes.

New to this year’s celebratory event, Universal Studios Hollywood will debut the all-new DreamWorks’ Kung Fu Panda Jade Palace Performance Stage and the exciting Dragon Warrior Training Show based on the beloved Kung Fu Panda franchise. The all-new Kung Fu Panda experience will engage guests of all ages in an interactive martial art demonstration performed by Master Po and friends. The immersive event will also feature veteran DreamWorks animators who will demonstrate practical techniques of drawing their favorite Kung Fu Panda characters as keepsake mementos.

The completely reimagined event will also serve up a replica of DreamWorks Kung Fu Panda’s famous Mr. Ping’s Noodle Shop, including Mr. Ping himself who will invite guests to enjoy his authentic Asian fare and a selection of hot and cold Asian beverages.

A returning favorite among Universal Studios Hollywood’s Lunar New Year traditions, Mandarin-speaking Transformer’s MEGATRON marks a highlight of the annual event, as the imposing leader of the DECEPTICONS returns to greet guests at the entry to the festivities.  The ominous 12-foot-tall sentient robot will once again interact with guests, engaging them both in Mandarin and in real-time conversation characteristic of his persona. A resident of Universal Studios Hollywood, MEGATRON is one of the stars of Universal Studios Hollywood’s thrill ride, “Transformers™: The Ride-3D.”

Illumination’s Minions from Universal Studios Hollywood’s popular Despicable Me Minion Mayhem ride will join the festivities this year, stepping out in style dressed in brightly colored traditional Lunar New Year attire.


As a complement to this year’s Lunar New Year celebration, Universal Studios Hollywood will welcome Hello Kitty, the beloved global pop icon created by the renowned Japanese company Sanrio to the entertainment destination. Hello Kitty and her signature red bow will make special appearances to meet guests at the Hello Kitty Shop located within the new Animation Studio Store opening Spring 2018.

CELEBRATE MARDI GRAS WITH A HORROR-THEMED UNDERGROUND SOIRÉE

JAN 10, 2017, LOS ANGELES - Drunken Devil is proud to present its second annual Bloody Gras, a terror-tinged, one-night-only fête celebrating Fat Tuesday. Last year’s inaugural event featured the the Axeman of New Orleans, a jazzy angel of death who stalked guests much like he did during his reign of terror in the Crescent City. This year, guests will step back in time to 1915, where they’ll enter a seedy brothel in Storyville, New Orleans’ red light district, in Bloody Gras: Tales of Storyville.

“Upon entering this year’s Bloody Gras, you’ll be thrust into a world of temptation, pleasure, and debauchery,” says Executive Producer Matt Dorado. “But underneath the masks, something sinister lurks.” As the evening progresses, guests will have the chance to interact with a host of characters - brothel regulars and residents alike - and piece together a terrifying narrative.  

“2017 was an experiment; we figured out what worked in our party atmosphere,” Dorado continues. “Using that knowledge, we decided to dig in and focus on the company’s mission to produce ‘horror nightlife,’ and Tales of Storyville will be no exception. We’ve dipped deep into New Orleans’ gothic history, pulling inspiration from urban legends and myths. All in all, this will likely be the darkest, and scariest, Drunken Devil event to date.”

In addition to the interactive portion, Bloody Gras will feature Drunken Devil’s signature open bar, with beer, wine, and cocktails flowing freely throughout the evening. The entertainment lineup will feature Alligator Wine, a unique, improv burlesque experience featuring Olivia Bellafontaine, Donna Hood, and Skylar Benton, along with live swampy blues by the Dave Cavalier Trio. Guests will also experience roaming marionette performances by Rasputin’s Marionettes, as well as an interactive photo booth, and special Mardi Gras tricks and treats throughout the night. The experience ends with a dance party, featuring DJs Chris Bowen (Bears in Space) and Dirty Dave (dublab), spinning back-to-back sets of sinister disco that will carry into the dark hours of the morning.

Neal Thurman Named New President of Six Flags Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbor

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — January 4, 2018 — Neal Thurman has been named Park President of Los Angeles-based theme parks Six Flags Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbor. He succeeds Bonnie Sherman Weber who is joining the Six Flags corporate team in Texas as SVP, In-Park Services. The announcement is a homecoming for Thurman as he spent seven years at Six Flags Magic Mountain beginning in 2007 as the Director of Operations.

“Neal is one of the best and brightest minds in the theme park industry. He is an outstanding leader, whose knowledge of park operations is unmatched,” stated Six Flags Senior Vice President of U.S. Park Operations, Thomas Iven. “He is already very familiar with Magic Mountain—the employees, and the culture, so he is very well-suited to lead this park.”

Thurman, most recently the park president of Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, NJ, has been with Six Flags for more than 22 years. “I am very excited about rejoining one of the leading theme park properties in the world,” said Thurman. “Having worked at Six Flags Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbor previously, I look forward to ‘coming home’ and contributing to the park’s exciting future.” Thurman comes to Six Flags Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbor with a focus on the team member experience and a passion for providing outstanding guest service.

​Prior to relocating to Jackson, NJ in 2016, Thurman was the park president at Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio. His Six Flags career started in 1995 at Six Flags Over Georgia gaining expertise in Operations, Human Resources, Guest Relations and Safety Management. He then relocated to Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom in 2003 as the Operations Manager before becoming the Director of Operations and Administration at the Six Flags park in Louisville. Relocating to Dallas Texas, Weber in her new position as SVP, In-Park Services, will be leading the company’s in-park revenue generating departments, including culinary services, retail, games, attractions, rentals, and parking.

Buena Park, Calif. – The Knott’s PEANUTS Celebration, an all-new Seasons of Fun event uniquely dedicated to celebrating the beloved PEANUTS characters, invites guests to step inside the pages of a Charles M. Schulz comic strip as the characters take over the entire theme park for the very first time. The newly introduced event will take place on weekends beginning January 27th through February 25th plus President’s day, February 19th. The event will feature special PEANUTS inspired décor, new social media worthy comic strip photo ops, new character experiences, live shows, exclusive merchandise and deliciously themed treats to complete this whimsical celebration.

The celebration will have plenty of surprises hidden around every corner. One-of-a-kind photo opportunities will be available throughout the park allowing guests to pose alongside their favorite characters or step into a PEANUTS comic strip to create a unique and lifetime memory. The vibrant décor will include full size comic strip props like Charlie Brown’s kites and the iconic kite eating trees which will adorn the park’s pathways. Guests will have the chance to meet with the beloved PEANUTS characters throughout the day as the characters appear at unexpected locations for special interactions.

Camp Snoopy Theater presents an all-new show where Lucy and Charlie put their talents to the test in  Lucy and Charlie’s Balancing Act. Also in Camp Snoopy, the Grand Sierra Railroad invites kids to celebrate with the PEANUTS Gang as they head to the Beagle Bonanza in this new ride overlay.

The PEANUTS inspired festivities continue at the Birdcage Theatre as the park introduces an experience that gives both the young and the young at heart a lesson on how to draw their favorite PEANUTS character. The PEANUTS Sketch School will include our resident art teacher who will provide step by step instructions on how to draw the perfect PEANUTS masterpiece. After class is dismissed, a special showing of a classic PEANUTS television special will be shown in the theatre.

Franklin and Linus are on a Western escapade as they transform into cowboys in the new PEANUTS Cowboy Jamboree at Calico Park. The boys are looking to challenge guests with some of the rootinest, tootinest games in Calico. Also in Ghost Town, everyone’s favorite messy pal, Pig Pen will be making his Knott’s Berry Farm debut as he hosts a special meetup at the Livery Stables with some of his favorite animal friends.

The celebration continues at the Calico Mine Stage where the PEANUTS characters have two all-new musical surprises for guests. During the day Sally and Schroder will host a retrospect of music in The Music Goes Round and Round where they’ll have the audience dancing in the aisles.  At nightfall the stage will transform into a musical extravaganza as the park presents the first ever Woodstock’s Musical Festival. The musical event will feature the Peanuts Gang joined by the family-friendly indie band The Jelly of the Month Club, performing a high energy rock concert for the whole family. Guests will also uncover hidden fun as they venture into Fiesta Village were Lucy and Sally have taken a journey south of the border as they have been introduced to the colorful dancing of Mexico. Lucy and Sally’s Fiesta Fantasy will bring lively music, traditional costumes and live performances to the Fiesta Village stage.

The best way to enjoy every weekend of the all-new Knott’s PEANUTS Celebration and all of the other Seasons of Fun is with a 2018 Season Pass. A Regular Season Pass includes unlimited admission in 2018 to Knott’s Berry Farm with no blackout dates, and a Gold Season Pass includes unlimited admission in 2018 to both Knott’s Berry Farm and the newly expanded Knott’s Soak City Waterpark with no blackout dates. Regular passes are just $94 or six easy payments of $15.66 and Gold Passes are $113 or six payments of just $18.83. These offers end April 8, 2018. Applicable taxes and fees apply online.
