Listen in, as we speak about the evening's activities, during Episode 384, of our podcast:
The artwork displayed at the "Tied Up In Knott's!" art show was incredibly impressive! The art show has become a highlight of the entire festival, capturing so much of Knott's history and creativity of local artists. A walkthrough of the display may be seen:

There was sooooo much food to try! We loved some items and liked everything else! A quick overview of the displayed food items may be seen at:

<![CDATA[Week of January 21 - 27, 2019]]>Sat, 26 Jan 2019 08:00:00 GMThttp://parksandcons.com/knotts-berry-farm-parkhops/week-of-january-21-27-2019January 26, 2019
On January 26th, Knott’s Berry Farm opened it's gates to guests with a larger scale presence of Peanuts themed entertainment than ever before. Although Camp Snoopy is a perfect home for the characters throughout the year, Peanuts Celebration kicked off last year as a companion event to the park's robust seasons of fun calendar. Alongside events like Boysenberry Festival and Merry Farm, Peanuts Celebration have the park a brand new reason to get guests to come out in January and February. After the success of 2018, the event was extended this year and runs weekend through March 10. Additionally, park decor and entertainment expanded to make sure guests are fully enveloped in the fun.

First up, let's highlight some new additions. Of the new options, our favorite is Woodstock's Bird's-Eye View. This Sky Cabin Cabin overlay has a fun new visual aesthetic as well as new audio. We are always Sky Cabin fans, so the added twist was a pleasant surprise when first announced and a welcomed feature of the event. Here is a closer look.
Another new addition to this years event is Camp Snoopy's Space Beagle. This brand new show is a super fun over the top journey into imagination that encourages kids to get up and move while enjoying a Peanuts space opera. It is silly, bombastic fun that had kids dancing, singing and smiling. Here is the full video:
Another new feature of this year's Peanuts Celebration was the replacement of Sally & Lucy's Fiesta Fantasy show with Spike's Discoteca de Silencio. This was silent disco is exactly what it sounds like. Starting at 5PM each day, guests can check in at the staging area in Fiesta and get their headphones. The headphones have a few channel offerings, so guests can pick their favorite tunes. From there, they just dance away without the presence of any sound to those outside the participants. The press release stated that Snoopy's brother, Spike would play host, but the character never appeared, while we were there. We will definitely be keeping an eye out, because new characters are always exciting at the parks.
Outside of the new, there are a number of returning favorites to Peanuts Celebration. Once again, the Beagle Bonanza overlay to Grand Sierra Railway is a huge treat. The depth of characters from Snoopy lore (yeah, that's a thing) is pretty fantastic.
Meanwhile, the Bird Cage once again plays host to the Peanuts Sketch School. This hands-on drawing class is led by the talented Noel Cox. Despite his history as a Hollywood artist, Mr. Cox is able to simplify the sketch process and articulate it in a way that even the least talented artist has the chance to leave with a great souvenir drawing that they created themselves.
Although we had high expectations for most of the offerings at Knott’s Peanuts Celebration, the exception was Woodstock's Music Festival. While we heard lots of positive from others on the nighttime concert, the show just didn't connect for us in 2018. That said, this year we had very different feelings on the show. With more focus on characters and cover songs, the Jelly-of-the-Month Club provided a really fun 30 or so minutes of music. This show has gone from something very skippable for us to a must see.
All in all, Knott's Berry Farm has produced a character-centric seasonal event that provides endless entertainment at an exceptional value. Things are running on all cylinders down on the Farm and we highly recommend checking it out.

We are back for what will likely be our last update at Knott’s prior to the start of this Saturday's kick-off of Peanuts Celebration.
Additionally, Camp Snoopy has a variety of characters represented on the poles.
Meanwhile, outside CS we found less new developments. That said, there are a couple items as you see here.
Here is our latest update video:
Alright, that's a wrap for this visit. Please subscribe on YouTube, Apple Podcast/Stitcher & follow along on social media if interested in the latest from the parks.

We are back at Knott’s Berry Farm with another update. This Saturday begins Knott's Peanuts Celebration and lots of touches were evident.

First up, let's just lump together all of the Peanuts Celebration touches that have been added since our last update. From the Sky Cabin overlay to new banners in Fiesta, we have you covered in this video:
Also, here are a few pictures:
Outside of Peanuts Celebration, there were a few other points of interest. In Fiesta Village, they've begun selling new merchandise specific to the land.
Although there's not a lot recognizing Valentine's Day at the park, there are a few more windows in the Marketplace.
Meanwhile, the express bakery is just about ready to re-open and the Emporium is still in major refurb mode.

January 18, 2019

We are back at Knott’s Berry Farm to see what's new after several days of heavy rain.
First up, we stop in Camp Snoopy where there is no new signs of Peanut's Celebration outside of more progress on the Camp Snoopy Theater stage as they prepare for the new Space Beagle.
Although no new merchandise has shown up yet, the windows at Cordy's have gotten their character windows.
Meanwhile, the stage has its first Peanut's Celebration touches.
While the park hasn't announced any Valentine's Day plans, the merchandise team has found a few spots at the candy stores to give the holiday a nod.
The area of the park we most eagerly watch these days is the new Calico River Rapids spot. While Bigfoot Rapids was a fun ride when we were kids, the combination of getting soaked without much in the way of theming kept us away the last several years. We are very excited to see the new additions from Garner Holt Productions. That said, the attraction is not yet at that stage of work and sits quietly for now.
Stepping outside of the park, work continues on the Emporium. Very curious to see its new look upon its reopening.
We'll close out this update with a quick video on Peanuts Celebration. Give it a watch if you have a couple minutes.
That's it for this stop. Peanuts Celebration is just a week away, so lots more decor coming over the course of this week. We'll share what we can and then share full details of the event when it officially opens on January 26th.

Welcome! This is a brand new addition to the way we cover parks on our routine visits. We don’t plan to do anything different with our social media updates, but we do want to add this spot to include a bit more. In short, there’s only so much we can post on social channels. So, follow along with us there and here!

Our first park update comes Knott’s Berry Farm on a rainy afternoon. Take a look at refurb areas and Knott’s Peanuts Celebration prep. Enjoy!

As you pull into the Marketplace, you’ll notice some fun touches in the windows of Virginia’s:
And over at Peanuts Headquarters:
At the turnstiles, the Peanuts Celebration has its big entry statement up:
Inside the park, it is truly a ghost town on a rainy day like this one:
Although there’s lots of Peanuts merch on display, there’s nothing specific to the event yet. The stage is clear, but not much to see there. Also, nothing at the Grand Sierra yet.
The only visible work for Celebration is over at the Camp Snoopy Theater where the Space Beagle Stage is looking great:
As we leave the park, here’s a couple other items. First, the express bakery is closed for refurb:
And the Emporium is closed for a major refurb:

In closing, here are done Scary Farm pumpkins in the rain, because few things in life are as good as pumpkins in the rain:
For more on Peanuts Celebration build, here’s a quick video:
